An Improved Structural Displacement Monitoring Approach by Acceleration-Aided Tilt Camera Measurement

چکیده

Computer vision is becoming one of the most popular remote-sensing techniques and has been used widely in displacement monitoring damage identification in-service bridges. Nevertheless, several obstacles, including limited sampling rate, insufficient resolution for remote measurement, error induced by camera tilting, restrict application vision-based approaches structural health (SHM). The combination a traditional SHM system modern technique can significantly improve accuracy reliability system. To make full use data collected computer overcome their shortcomings, we presented an improved bridge estimation approach purposes fusing camera-based acceleration measurements. First, estimated scaling factor, which transfers pixel to real under tilt photogrammetry, reconstructed displacements same frequency band without actual size structure or measurement parameters. Then, extracted low-frequency from fused high-frequency that was achieve high-accuracy estimation. efficiency this method validated through dynamic load tests on suspension model laboratory field highway subway cable-stayed bridge.

Inspection of aeronautical mechanical parts with a pan-tilt-zoom camera: an approach guided by the computer-aided design model

We focus on quality control of mechanical parts in aeronautical context using a single pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera and a computer-aided design (CAD) model of the mechanical part. We use the CAD model to create a theoretical image of the element to be checked, which is further matched with the sensed image of the element to be inspected, using a graph theory–based approach. The matching is carrie...

Development of a Wireless Displacement Measurement System Using Acceleration Responses

Displacement measurements are useful information for various engineering applications such as structural health monitoring (SHM), earthquake engineering and system identification. Most existing displacement measurement methods are costly, labor-intensive, and have difficulties particularly when applying to full-scale civil structures because the methods require stationary reference points. Indi...

A Noncontact FMCW Radar Sensor for Displacement Measurement in Structural Health Monitoring

This paper investigates the Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar sensor for multi-target displacement measurement in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). The principle of three-dimensional (3-D) displacement measurement of civil infrastructures is analyzed. The requirements of high-accuracy displacement and multi-target identification for the measuring sensors are discussed. The fun...

An Improved Methodology for Measurement of Uninterrupted – Flow Capacity Affected by Pavement Condition

The present Serviceability Rating (PSR) is one of the major criteria in selecting road for rehabilitation. In this paper, statistically realistic models for are developed PSR and free speed correlation on uninterrupted flow facilities. Then, the previously developed relations between free speed and capacity are used to determine the effect of pavement condition on flow capacity. Two nearly iden...
